Linux is being used on all our servers. Have you used/administered TCP/IP nets?*: true Describe --------- I have been adminstring the network of over 7000 studens and 2000 staff with linux . I wrote a script to create 30 virtual interfaces on centos with three physical cards to provide DHCP service both for wire and wireless endpoint, I have to use cisco 2821 to do routing base on policy because I have up to seven cache servers running squid in transparent on centos which are resident in vmware installed on four physical hpdl380 servers. The bandwith is managed with zeroshell in bridge mode. Have you set up and/or administered any of the following? All of the switching devices are basically cisco product. There are couple of intrusion detection and prevention system, these are running open source snort with rules update from emergingthreats Some of the subnets network admissions are being controlled with packet fence and in the process of extending it to other subnet We have seven content caching server running Squid ,these are arranged in a hierarchy but parralell in transparent mode. We maintain two internet services via satellite and fiber optic link The modem we use for satellite link is ipricot for receiving and comptech for transmitting.
